Doma

Doma is Upper Rank Two, a smiling cult leader whose congregation worships him as a source of salvation while he eats them. The anime has so far shown him mostly in the margins, and every margin is unsettling: at the Upper Rank gathering in the Infinity Castle he greets Akaza with warm, chattering friendliness and gets a fist through his face for it, which he takes with the same smile. Nothing appears to reach him. The cheer is not a mask over cruelty; there is simply nothing underneath.

His one significant act on screen so far is a century old. As the then Upper Rank Six, he found a burned girl and her dying brother in a gutter of Yoshiwara and offered them his blood, apparently on a whim. The siblings became Daki and Gyutaro, the demons who ruled the Entertainment District until the events of the arc that bears its name. Doma has since climbed four ranks. The show has not yet explained what he did to earn them, and given what his handiwork looked like at rank six, that silence is doing deliberate work.
